Educational activities for schools
A visit to the planetarium is completed by a guided tour of the Astronomical Museum, offered by the City of Rome and carried out by young guides/entertainers, chosen from the students and recent graduates in physics and astrophysics of the University of Rome, all of whom are proficient in both science and communication. A visit to the museum, which is a particularly interactive experience, emphasizing involvement with the structure itself, usually takes place after the show in the cupola, and lasts around 45 minutes.
The planetarium welcomes school children from academic institutes of every type and level, and from the universities of the city of Rome, the provinces, Lazio and the neighboring areas. Over the years, the planetarium’s catchment area has extended over an increasingly wide area, confirming it more and more as a national reference point.
Show for school groups are available, on request, also in English. The show can be followed by a guided tour, with fee, to the museum of astronomy, booking required.
